Project 2: Art Therapy

These past few weeks have been an absolute journey. I’ve learned so much about machine learning, coding, and above all, my battle with time management! It was nice to get a chance to devote one project to something I have a large affinity to, and that’s art! I absolutely love being able to use my artistic capabilities at the nearest opportunity. Outside of classes, I’m usually creating beauty and gaming based content online, but since this Summer’s classes have been so content heavy, I haven’t had as much time to dedicate to creating as I would like to. No fear, however, because I can take this time to show what art I can make while learning how to code!

About My Art Test Piece

For this T-shirt test image, I wanted to see how different the Kandinsky style could change a picture with an entirely blank background. I also wanted to see how the filter would apply to beauty-based photography. Using an image captured by Raven Semone (@sassy__snaps on Instagram), with beauty and hair done by @kyeglam and Polished Hair Co. (@polishedhairco) respectively, I appplied the picture in hopes of transforming it into something magical, and was not disappointed! Model Shonquinese Shields (@shonshine__) looks stunning in this picture already, and with the added artistic filter, it adds the perfect contours and shadows to their cheekbones, chin, and decolletage. I also appreciate how it treated the subtle highlights of their forehead, eyeshadow, and nose area. See below for the before and after!
